The Bushkill Stream corridor (a sensitive ecological asset) immediately adjoins the site. A warehouse with massive parking lots and storm water storage is completely inappropriate and will inundate the landscape. And that’s only one of a dozen problems with this project. I live three blocks away and have been in Easton for six decades. I know what nightmares are likely if this gets approved.

It is for my children, grandchildren, and now two darling great-grandchildren that I am willing to stick my neck out to protect this lovely area where we live. The scourge of this horrific, environmental disaster, Easton Commerce “Park,” would endure long after my own life ends. I don’t want my loved ones wishing that I and many others had done more to stop it from being built.

Traffic Concerns
We don’t need more traffic! A majority of the traffic lights have yet to even be updated in our city, boro, and townships. Last thing we need is more traffic piled on top of these traffic lights and poor conditioned roads we have.
– Joseph
I used to live on Jackson St 30 years ago. The pollution from Pfizer was horrible. Everything was orange and smelled. This is going to be the same. Pollution from trucks running, noise pollution, the traffic will be affected and 13 St is congested now. Wrong place, too close to city homes, and it will affect the single family homes going up Northampton St turning behind Ashton. Build a retirement community, affordable apartments are desperately needed in this area. Put in the aquarium that downtown Easton turned down but not a warehouse.

Local Needs
This town needs plenty of things… like lights on Wood avenue and Bushkill, or better roads… maybe even new restaurant chains! What it absolutely does NOT need is another atrocious warehouse creating havoc in traffic, and overdeveloping the land when there are so MANY places that are developed and abandoned already! NO WAREHOUSE!
– Lara
The traffic and pollution from a warehouse on Wood Avenue would wreak havoc on area residents traveling to school, work, and parks daily. The potential damage to what remains of our local wildlife, waterways, and environment would be significant, the pollution from such large facility would be significant to the area, and the added heat that would come off of such a large surface area would create even more of a problem to residents than the pollution. We do not need another warehouse.
– Mary Ellen
There is no way the on and off ramps in that area can handle such traffic. This is a terrible idea for our community.
– Amir

Too much disruption and destruction does not equal an eventual win. Ever.
– Amber
Too much traffic on Wood Ave and 13th Street!

The traffic and pollution from a warehouse on Wood Avenue would wreak havoc on area residents traveling to school, work, and parks daily. The potential damage to what remains of our local wildlife, waterways, and environment would be significant, the pollution from such large facility would be significant to the area, and the added heat that would come. This is the one and only chance to join Upper Hackett Park with Lower Hackett Park. Imagine looking at that hill from 13th St. and see a park. It would be beautiful. Inviting. A reason to get off the exit and see Easton instead of passing by. Look at that ugly city Vacant factory and massive warehouse. That is what people traveling from the west will think and see. Parkland is more valuable than warehouses. During the 9 minute flight in from Harrisburg to A.B.E. all that can be seen is a carpet of warehouses. I say 9 minute flight, that same distance by car is almost 2 hours. That is enough warehouses! Off of such a large surface area would create even more of a problem to residents than the pollution. We do not need another warehouses.

The amount of traffic that already comes through on Route 22 will back up off of the ramp onto 22 already with regular car traffic, so having a warehouse that is going to have tractor trailers is not going to make it any safer of an environment for people coming to and from work and traveling.

Long-time Residents
“I have a home nearby and am extremely concerned about the traffic. I have had the fortune to own a home on Jackson street at the intersection and my current home is at the top of Hackett. The intersection at 13th st. is congested and getting worse. I can’t count the number of accidents I’ve seen there in 20+ years. With trucks added I fear it will be worse. I am also concerned with the traffic using the side streets between hackett & bushkill as an alternative.”
– Tera Burnett
“I grew up in Wilson borough and hate to think how much light pollution this mega warehouse will cause. Not to mention the way all those trucks coming in and out all day will add to the air pollution which has been getting worse each year. I’ve heard people say that its just how it is here, that the shape of the valley causes pollution to linger, but it wasn’t like this when I was growing up. We used to be able to breathe cleaner air, and we have the power to make it that way again.”
— Becca Sherrer

“The warehouse is just another eyesore, noise maker, traffic juggernaut that is not necessary within our community. It is time to say no, time to stand up to developers and state not in our neighborhood. Convert this area for wildlife, flora & fauna etc.
Grow a spine and say no.“
— Mary Arlia
“Adding a warehouse at Wood Ave. & 13th Street will be such a clusterfuck…
And it is already bad now”
Mike Enright
“Too much traffic & concerned about pollution.”
Sherri Lesillo
“Its greedy, awful, and backward-thinking!”
Beth Seetch
“I feel that this warehouse will adversely affect the surrounding neighborhoods & parks. Please rethink the use of this land!”
Wade Schutler
“How about meeting the need for housing and a sustainable garden community. Who needs another warehouse to just supply more “stuff” no one needs and goes to garbage ultimately.”
— Anon
“Absolutely no business having this in Easton/Wilson. To begin with there is too much traffic on a road not designed for it.”
– Margaret Dulan
“Definitely unhappy about it. Protect the natural stream and woods & natural plants in the area. Highway 22 is too close to us. Anything natural or nature helps reduce pollution. So absolutely against this warehouse!!!!”
