Because of the geology of the area, this specific site is potentially a high-radon area. A significant uranium (U) occurrence at this location is discussed in detail on pp. 62-67

“If the area were unpopulated, resource studies for U and possibly other metals would be appropriate. As it is, the area appears to warrant environmental monitoring for radionuclides and gamma flux.” (p62)

Much of the SE flank of the ridge—the portion that seems will be removed to accommodate the NE part of the project—consists of talcose rock that almost certainly contains asbestiform amphibole minerals
